Acne! Would you prefer
to prevent them or treat them?
We all knew what acne is all about, so let’s not waste too much
time discussing them. We would like to bring your attention on
something that we find weird with regards to acne (jerawat) and would like to
hear your opinion on it later.
Basically there are just too many books, journals and articles on
acne. Most of them are talking about the same thing over and over
again for God knows how many generations. Hence, it is not
surprising that anybody down the street could tell you in great
details what causes or triggers acne. Let us skip all the teeny
weenie details out of the picture and we should come out with the
following 8 major causes or triggers of acne:
Hormonal activities such as menstrual cycles and puberty
Stress
Hyperactive sebaceous glands
Bacteria clogging skin pores
Accumulation of dead skin cells
Bacterial infection in the skin pores that causes allergy
Skin irritation Allergies
We all knew that, aren’t we? The question that bothers me most at
the moment is why we still have people looking for cures or
treatments on acne when you all ready have all the necessary
information to help you prevent them in the first place?
Let us take a look at how people in Asia especially those from
China, Japan, India and Korea are tackling this issue. They too knew
all about the factors that causes and triggers acne. The only
difference is that they are using such information to seek
prevention not looking for cures or treatment. Asians are very
traditional; hence it would be quite easy for them to do this.
Asians are very particular on a lot of things. Every Asians grew up
under strict upbringing by their elders. They avoid certain types of
food; consume a lot of traditional herbs or spices and so on. Their
elders also stressed upon the importance of having a stress free
life for longevity. This has been passed down through many
generations! I personally view Asian cultures as ancient wisdoms.
You would understand why in a moment.
I got a question for you. Have you ever wondered why Asian
Chinese, Indian, Korean or Japanese have clear skins and glowing
complexions? The answer is because they have been taught by past
generations to live on healthy eating habits and so forth. Since
they have been taught ever since childhood, the culture has now
become their daily habits and they would stick to them until they
themselves have children of their own. Then the whole teaching and
learning process would start all over again, very much maintaining
the old tradition and culture. The point is that our forefathers all
ready knew about acne or any other type of skin diseases and they
have found ways of preventing them long time ago! Asians who believe
and follow their old system secretly acknowledged the wisdom behind
their strict tradition and culture. It is indeed a treasured ancient
wisdom!
Western folks may find this hard to believe since their culture
has nothing that closely resembles Asian’s. But what if the western
folks adjust their way of life in a way or two so that prevention of
acne would be more of the agenda of the day? I know that this would
not be easy for western folks especially when their world is more
towards commercialization rather than tradition. I have noticed this
many times before but I wonder whether western folks realized it
too. Let us take a look at any of the products that supposedly cures
and treats acne especially those that you can buy from shops and
pharmacies. Do they come with tips and pointers on acne prevention?
Of course not! Big corporations are spending millions on research
and development and they are banking on you not knowing about the
actual truth! Hence, you would end up spending hundreds and
thousands of dollars on curing and treating acne over and over
again! Sad isn’t it?
Traditional Asians who knew the secrets are not fond of this so
called modern clinical cures and treatments for acne. Traditional
Asians knew that our face is very delicate and sensitive. Hence, we
do not approve of the current modern practice of dabbing active
chemicals or elements such as Benzoyl Peroxide, Tretinoin, Accutane
or Sulphur to our face. While it may solves your acne but have
anyone wondered about the consequences and complications? Is having
deep scars on your face are the trophies that you would like to have
as reminders of your victorious battles against acne?
Enough is enough! I strongly recommend those who suffer from acne
to look for ways of preventing acne instead of curing and treating
them. If you have any Asian friends that lived by their old
traditions, go and ask them all about their way of life and customs.
Learn more about their eating habits and find out what type of food
you should avoid. Don’t forget to learn how they relaxed themselves
too since it would help you in handling stress better.
Now that you know there are cultures and traditions in the world
today that has acne prevention well coded into their system, which
approach would you prefer to undertake in fighting acne? Would you
prefer to prevent or continue seeking treatments for acne? Please
