Oregon Vortex. Natural optical illusion? Sorcery? Magic?

Location of Oregon Vortex

Have you heard of people saying that we have a lot of invisible vortexes whirling around in the world today? This invisible vortexes can purportedly distorts space, size, vision and play havoc to Newton’s law of gravity. If you are an arrogant physicists or scientists, this is one of the places in this world that you should avoid at all costs! Sceptical?

Well, there is a place somewhere in the world today that might just change your way of looking at this. It is located somewhere in Oregon and the Native Americans were the first to discover its oddities and peculiarities. During the gold mining years in the early 19th century, the Old Grey Eagle Mining Company built an office there and later used it for storage in 1904. A geologist by the name of John Lister later further developed the place in the 1920s. After realizing its commercial value, he later opened the place to the public in 1930. As a scientific scholar, he has conducted countless experiments and eventually died in 1959. The old wooden place where he used to spend many hours experimenting is now popularly known as The House of Mystery over in Oregon.

Among the most peculiar oddity over here is the apparent visual change of height. You can bring along your measurement tools and they would show that there is no such change in height anywhere you go within the area. The example shown in the video here shows two individuals with basically the same height. However, once they swap places, the visual difference in height would be apparent! Measurements taken before and after such experiment would not show any changes at all. It is incredible. This is a natural phenomenon that defies any scientific explanations even today!

If you are looking for a fun way to pull the legs of your science freak friends, bring them here and let them for once realize that not everything in this world could easily be explained through science. The place is fun for children too and exposing them to the peculiarities here should be the best ‘scientific’ outing for the whole family.
